Horsing around in Terlingua

Horsing around in Terlingua
Does this outfit make my butt look big?

Wednesday we decided to take a breather and explore the ghost town a bit more. It was fun and low key - always a good thing! There are a ton of ruins all over and the cool thing is, some new construction is now incorporating the old with new pueblo-style adobe homes. Very chic. Terlingua is known as a town of misfits and eccentrics. We met one at her gallery/home: Alice Knight - what a hoot! we arrived at her place late afternoon and she was sipping vodka from her coffee mug, telling us stories, and singing us songs. We had trouble getting away, but bless her heart, at 78 to live alone in the desert with no car or visible means of support other than her art... When asked, other locals rolled their eyes - ALL know Alice! I bought a cool pendant from her and I really enjoyed meeting/experiencing Ms. Alice. C' ya on the road! Julie

You can stay in a teepee or a "bubble" when you visit.
A must-stop, have a beer and some fantastic food! The brussel sprouts are amazing! Sit on the porch and have beer with the locals. Someone is usually playing the guitar and singing. Awesome!
