Well, we intended to leave Taos, NM and head to Colorado for a week before going to Nebraska, but the weather was not obliging us. People sometimes don't understand why we would worry about cold weather with a nice Class A like we live in. The real issue - as far as we have encountered - is the potential for frozen water lines. Sooo, when in doubt, head south; and that's what we did! We decided to spend a week waiting out the weather south of Albuquerque at an RV resort on the Isleta Pueblo. It is gorgeous! From here Mike got to fish, we took the RailRunner commuter train to Belen, NM, went back to Santa Fe for a day, experienced the Old Town/Plaza district in Albuquerque, saw Petroglyph Park, went south to Bosque Farms, NM and had a fun time all around.

Petroglyph Park - rugged hiking but big payoff.
Rail Runner commuter train picked us up right outside of the RV park in Isleta.

Enjoying New Mexican fare at Sopas in Basque Farms, NM. Tiny community established by the Spaniards in the 1500's.
Took the Rail Runner to Belen one evening to enjoy Pete's New Mexican restaurant. Delicious and we had the delightful opportunity to ride the rails with a local man named Johnny. Johnny grew up on the pueblo and gave us a wealth of local color on the train ride from Isleta to Belen. Note: Johnny served in the US Marine Corps.
These cottonwoods at the campground appear to be dancing and I say: Why not? Isleta, NM is a beautiful vibe for sure! Right behind the fence and the bushed is the Rio Grande.
